The process of creating DICE Learning objectives consists of identifying students' prior knowledge about digital community engagement, selecting the integration level of DICE (based on adjusted Bloom’s taxonomy), selecting the active verbs and, finally, creating specific DICE learning objectives.

Steps

  • Consider students‘ prior knowledge about digital community engagement.
  • Select the integration level of DICE in your course.
  • Select the action verb to start drafting the learning outcome of your course.
  • Now create tailored DICE learning objectives following the 4 steps:
  • Take the Social Impact Value as the main goal of the course (from the Phase I, Value Maps for Social Impact Tool).
  • Choose the Student Learning driver as the main skill or competency to achieve with your students and to contribute to the Social Impact Value (from the Phase I, Value Map for Students' Learning Tool).
  • Take specific action verb you have identified before (Phase II)
  • Include digital element.
