Assessment and DICE projects

from Phase 5: Assessment

Tool Description

Digital Community Engagement Courses need a formal approach, as per traditional courses, but also taking into account some particularities of the DICE activities.

This includes planning, monitoring and reporting the activities but also evaluating the specific targeted skills and competences and finally presenting the results to other peers or stakeholders.

Have a look at the short video explaining the tool down below.

Goal

The objective is to have an example on how to assess your students when developing digital community engagement activities within the context of an official Higher Education learning program.

Steps

  • Design an evaluation that includes the whole project and the path followed, not only the results obtained. Start with the initial plan and objectives and assess how students face problems.
  • Evaluate those skills, competencies and values selected in the design phase of the course.
  • Take into account the feedback and impressions of students and the community.
  • You can find an example of an assessment rubric in the resource below.
